Coreopsis (Tickseed) is widely used, and particularly popular in more arid climates because of its adaptability to high heat and low moisture. It is a rhizomatous perennial which typically grows in dense, bushy clumps 1-3' tall. This native plant throws out blooms across the color spectrum, and will flower nonstop from June to frost under even the most difficult conditions. Plants may be sheared in mid to late summer to promote a fall re-bloom and to remove any sprawling or unkempt foliage. For those looking for plants to attract butterflies, coreopsis is a perennial of choice. It is easy to grow and is suitable for a perennial border, naturalizing or rock gardens.

To plant bare root perennials, dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2” below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly.

Supplied as #1 sized bare root.
