Delaware is an early-ripening red grape variety with small berries and clusters, and a mild flavor. This slip-skin variety is firm with tender skin and juicy sweet flesh. It is one of the highest-quality American bunch grapes both for eating fresh and making white wines, including dry, sweet, and ice wine. The Delaware grape is famed for its production of spicy, sparkling wines. Space 6 to 15' apart. Self-pollinating. Mid-season harvest, two weeks prior to Concord. Hardiness zones 5-8.
