5", light mustard to butter yellow flowers with a striking wine purple eye and matching picotee edge half way up the petals. Eye is notched at the midrib, creating an interesting central pattern. Yellow-green throat; crimped flower petals. Blooms in late summer. Extended bloom--flowers last at least 16 hrs. each. Tetraploid. Awards: JC '92, HM '97, AM '00, DSA '01, SSM (runner up) '02, Popularity Poll. This is considered a premium daylily, which means that it has been selected as highly performing plant with exceptional bloom performance, substantive, vibrantly colored flowers, complete winter hardiness in northern zones, and a vigorous habit. Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone).
