Rudbeckia, or Black Eyed Susan, is simply magnificent for any full sun to partial shade area. It is long blooming and long-lived, and once established, virtually maintenance free. Its bright golden-yellow petals surround dark brown centers. It is great for perennial beds, borders or meadow areas. It is a prolific bloomer, producing ample flowers to grace both the garden as well as fresh arrangements from July through September.

Rudbeckia may be planted in any well-drained soil, and maintenance is easy with a quick cut-back in the winter to remove dead leaves. The clumps get larger every year yet do not require division like some perennials, and removing spent flowers promotes re-bloom.

To plant bare root perennials, dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2” below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly.

Supplied as #1 sized bare root.
