Salpiglossis

The common name of Painted Tongue for Salpiglossis describes this plant quite well. Bushy plants produce a profusion of trumpet-shaped blooms, often with dark veins and painted throats. A number of different colored blooms can be produced on the same plant, which is quite unusual. Salpiglossis grows very well under high heat conditions, making it a summer annual that shouldn’t be overlooked.
