Gracing gardens since the 16th century, these marvelous blooms inspired their name, which translates to globe in German. Decorative, globe-shaped flowers bloom during the summer above gleaming dark green serrated, finely cut leaves. Globeflowers (Trollius) are undemanding perennials that look best in mass plantings. You may cut stems back after flowering to induce a second flush of blooms later in the season
Globeflower is moisture-loving and is frequently used in the bog garden and along water sides. Bred from wildflowers that prefer marshy meadows, it thrives in poorly drained clay soils, and does not tolerate outright dryness. It also thrives in well-drained soils.
To plant bare root perennials, dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2” below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly.
Supplied as #1 sized bare root.
