Harris Seeds/GardenTrends partners with P. Allen Smith to carry the Home Grown Seed Collection.

Harris Seeds/GardenTrends is pleased to announce our new partnership with P. Allen Smith. Allen is a widely known author, television host, entrepreneur and conservationist within the gardening community. Based just outside of Little Rock, Arkansas, Allen owns and operates a gorgeous estate, Moss Mountain Farm, where he grows fresh produce and flowers, promoting the local food movement, organic gardening and a grounded, natural lifestyle. New for the 2017-2018 season, Harris Seeds/GardenTrends is offering Allen’s exclusive Home Grown Seed Collection, featuring 28 vegetable and 14 cut flower varieties. Home Grown packets contain 10 or 50 untreated seeds and are packaged in beautiful, custom color envelopes.

Harris Seeds/GardenTrends attends the HGSA, Home Garden Seed Association, Summer Meeting in Canandaigua. NY.

The Home Garden Seed Association (HGSA) is a member driven organization made up of garden seed packet companies, seed growers, and packet printers. The central goal is to promote gardening from seed. The annual HGSA Seed Conference and Trials, which takes place in a different location every September, acts as a forum for members to discuss issues of mutual concern as well as share information regarding successful gardening from seed, the packet seed industry, and major gardening trends.

Harris Seeds/GardenTrends is a host of the
All-America Selections / National Garden Bureau Annual Summer Summit.
The AAS/NGB is an annual gathering for members, judges, breeders, brokers, growers, display gardens, retailers, media, garden writers and anyone who would like to attend to learn more about All-America Selections, meet the NGB members and see the impressive trials planted for this event. This year's Summit is a 3.25 day fun-packed educational event and attendees will be visiting several locations around Rochester, NY, including Harris Seeds' facility and trial grounds. Visitors will tour Harris Seeds' flower and vegetable trials, including their All-America Selections trial beds, container trials, home garden display beds, high tunnel and more. The indoor tour will include Harris' germination lab where seed is tested, the seed packaging department and dry room, and the fulfillment area. The visit to Harris Seeds wraps up with a delicious lunch featuring AAS vegetables winners!

Each year during the 3rd week of August, Seneca Vegetable Research, Inc host "field days" to provide the dealer network one site to view all the latest products from seed producers. This provides Harris Seeds/GardenTrends an opportunity to meet with seed producers and get exclusive previews at upcoming and new varieties for home gardeners.

Harris Seeds/GardenTrends participated in the National Garden Bureau’s (NGB) New Varieties display at the GWA Symposium.

The Harris Seeds/GardenTrends team attends the annual spring trials in California.
The California Spring Trials is an annual weeklong event and is a launching ground for some of the newest plant varieties, signage and packaging products, and merchandising programs and concepts. In addition, many locations include PGR experiments, outdoor trialing, and technical information.  This event allows companies like Harris Seeds to make final decisions about new products to add for home gardeners.
