Arctic Male kiwi plants produce flowers but no fruit. The male kiwi plant is required for pollinating the female, which produces the fruit. If you are growing only for the ornamental foliage, consider planting only males. Artic kiwi plants have been tested in New Hampshire and upper New York State where they survived 25°F below zero temperatures! Plants are attractive and require a sunny location, preferably with wind protection. Plant 10 to 20'apart. Grows on grape-like vines, reaching 15-20', and needs a wall or trellis for support. Prune as needed in late fall or early winter. Hardiness zones 5-7.
